Academy Open competitions are excellent for new athletes starting out in the sport, there is a friendly environment and plenty of support from academy coaches to help athletes understand and enjoy competitive Weightlifting.

The events are official tier 3 British Weight Lifting registered competitions, suitable for the more advance lifters who wish to have their total registered on the Sport 80 ranking system for qualification purposes, both for Welsh and British National championships.

Academy Open events will be held during the months of March, July and October at participating centres.
