Welsh Weightlifting's work is driven to inspire people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to improve their physical health and well-being. We believe that well-coached strength activities benefit children’s natural development and is important for all generations. (links well with younger and older photos on home page) Our activities can promote social interactions that enrich people’s lives and builds confidence.
Members at academies and clubs enjoy the benefits of Weightlifting, strength training and Para Powerlifting. We support our centres to get more people involved at a local level to benefit from our sport.
Weightlifting and para-powerlifting provide opportunities for recreation and competition for all ages. Weightlifting training is an underpinning conditioning activity that enhances performance in all sports.
We have programmes in place to support our athletes on the international stage. A pathway which develops talent to become higher level athletes, competing successfully at Wales, in UK events and internationally.
