I joined the board three years ago, full of ideas and enthusiasm looking to give back to the organisation that has given me so much over the years, as an athlete, as a coach, as a director of a gym but probably most importantly to me at this stage in my career, as a TO.
Throughout my three years as chair, I have given my all, ably supported by the team that makes up the NGB- from WW staff, fellow board members and Sport Wales, to valued friends and advisors both within the weightlifting community and further afield and I would like to publicly put on record my thanks to you all.
I hope I have made a positive contribution within that time, but feel, like with all things, that rotation enables the implementation of fresh ideas and helps to drive standards forwards. For this reason, I am not seeking re-election but look forward, as a committed member of the NGB, to supporting the next person in the role.
I will continue with all of my other roles within the sport, and you never know, I may be seen on a platform as a masters lifter in the coming months!
