An exciting announcement for all budding Para Powerlifters, with the opportunity to register your interest in the upcoming Talent ID days that are taking place across Wales to be able to recruit the next generation of Para Powerlifting champions.
Weightlifting Wales, Disability Sport Wales, Welsh Powerlifting Association and British Weightlifting are working together to identify and develop the next generation of Welsh Para Powerlifting stars. We are looking for people who have a specific physical impairment and are passionate about sport and would like to explore their potential in Para Powerlifting.
You do not need to have any experience of Powerlifting – you may be taking part in other sports, or training at a gym and feel that Para Powerlifting could be an opportunity for you.
The times and locations for all of the different sessions are as follows:
All of these sessions take place from 10am-1pm.
Ages 15+
People who have a specific physical disability. Short in stature, have a lower limb impairment or sustained a spinal cord injury and certain types of cerebral palsy.
If you are considering competing in Para Powerlifting.
We will provide support and guidance at scheduled talent identification days with additional opportunities to get involved with Para Powerlifting.
The days will be delivered by experienced coaches who will give you the opportunity to try Para Powerlifting in a fun, supported environment.
