What We Do

Welsh Weightlifting's work is driven to inspire people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to improve their physical health and well-being. We believe that well-coached strength activities benefit children’s natural development, and is important for all generations. Our activities can promote social interactions that enrich people’s lives and builds confidence.

Members at academies and clubs enjoy the benefits of Weightlifting, strength training and Para Powerlifting. We support our centres to get more people involved at a local level to benefit from our sport.

Weightlifting and Para Powerlifting provide opportunities for recreation and competition for all ages. Weightlifting training is also an underpinning conditioning activity that enhances performance in all sports.

We have programmes in place to support our athletes on the international stage, and a pathway which develops talented lifters to become higher level athletes, competing successfully within Wales, in UK events and internationally.
