Notice of Annual General Meeting
The Wales Weightlifting Federation CIC 2026 Annual General Meeting will be held virtually on Wednesday 11th November 2026 at 5.30pm via Zoom.
In order to join the AGM, you must complete the registration form to confirm your attendance. A link will be sent to all those who have registered their intention to attend via the form below:

You must have a valid Weightlifting Wales membership to join this meeting and must login using the email account registered to their membership, so that Weightlifting can verify who is attending. If any members need their email address details updating, they need to contact the Business Support Officer (admin@weightlifting.wales) as soon as possible.
Members may be asked to consider and to vote on ordinary or special resolutions, as well as any questions they may have about anything discussed through the meeting. Voting for those attending the AGM will be held by a show of hands during the meeting.
An agenda will be circulated along with any other relevant documentation for the AGM by no later than Wednesday 21st October.
Proxy Voting
All members have the right to nominate a proxy to vote, attend, and speak on their behalf at an Annual General Meeting if they are unable to attend the meeting themselves.
To nominate a proxy to attend, vote or speak on your behalf during the AGM, a proxy form must be completed (see below), and signed by the member (electronically or by hand), and sent to Weightlifting Wales via email to office@weightlifting.wales.
The deadline to nominate a proxy will be 6pm on Monday 9th November.

There will be an election for one new members to join the board of directors at the upcoming AGM. The one vacant position is member-elected position. Weightlifting Wales (WW) invites its members to nominate a fellow willing member who is over the age of 18, to enter the election. We are seeking members who are passionate about Weightlifting and Para Powerlifting, who want to provide insight and opinion, who are able to work well in a team and listen to others.
We would also encourage members with skills in finance, business, marketing and communications, partnership building, or commercial skills (all identified as desirable), to consider this opportunity.
Nominations are now open. For those interested, please complete the Board Nomination form which can be found above. You must hold a valid membership with Weightlifting Wales, and you must find one fellow WW member with a valid membership to sign and submit your nomination on your behalf. The voting process will take place during the AGM, with details to follow.
Please submit all nominations to admin@weightlifting.wales by 10pm Sunday October 18th. The nominees information will be shared with the membership via this website page on 21st October, along with the agenda.
Some Details about the expectations as a Weightlifting Wales Board Member:
- To attend 4 Quarterly Board Meetings per year, plus ad-hoc meetings called for matters that arise between these scheduled meetings, meetings are held usually on a weekday evening from 5.30/6pm.
- You may also be put onto a Sub-Committee dependent on your skills and experience, you will then be expected to attend these meetings as and when they are called.
- To attend the AGM
- WW Directors are expected to adhere to the Code of Conduct for Directors, the Conflicts of Interest Policy, and to sign a Conflicts of Interest Declaration form, as well as a Confidentiality Agreement.
- To take responsibility for understanding your duties as a Director and ensuring that you read all papers and relevant information in advance of meetings so as to come prepared for any discussions.
- On successful election to the Board, you will receive some introductory information and you will be booked onto the an essential Board training workshop hosted by the Welsh Sport Association, you will receive information throughout your term for additional training opportunities.
- Member-Elected Directors serve a term of two years, at the end of which they may retire from their position or ask to be re-elected by the members for a further two-year term.
